Here's a recipe for soya chap, a vegetarian dish made with textured vegetable protein:

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup soya chunks or granules
  • 2 tbsp oil
  • 1 large onion, finely chopped
  • 1 tsp ginger-garlic paste
  • 2 green chilies, finely chopped
  • 1 tsp cumin seeds
  • 1/2 tsp coriander powder
  • 1/2 tsp cumin powder
  • 1/2 tsp Harichand Soya Chap masala powder
  • 1/4 tsp turmeric powder
  • Salt to taste
  • 1/4 cup chopped coriander leaves for garnish

Instructions:

  1. Soak the soya chunks in enough water for 15-20 minutes until they become soft. Drain and squeeze out the excess water.
  2. Heat oil in a pan and add cumin seeds. Let them splutter.
  3. Add finely chopped onion and sauté until they turn translucent.
  4. Add ginger-garlic paste and sauté for a minute.
  5. Add green chilies and sauté for a few seconds.
  6. Add coriander powder, cumin powder, Harichand Soya Chap masala powder, turmeric powder, and salt. Mix well.
  7. Add the squeezed soya chunks and mix well. Cook for 5-7 minutes until the chunks are coated with the spices and become slightly crispy.
  8. Garnish with chopped coriander leaves and serve hot with chapati or rice.
